Do you have a junior golfer aged 3-17 who wants to learn more about golf? Sign them up for a junior golf program at Bing Maloney Golf Course!
The junior golf programs at Bing Maloney incorporate the Life Skills of The First Tee (accompanied by The Nine Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits). Our programs also work on improving golf skills and athletic movements and exercises. We have learned that these movements not only help the development of the student’s golf game, they also create a healthy population.
The First Tee is a World Golf Foundation initiative dedicated to providing young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop through golf, life-enhancing values such as: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgment. In all of our junior classes we bridge these core values to everyday life and how they can be used.
The golf skills curriculum is a station based curricula that helps students to discover and improve in a safe environment. We discuss putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play, the full swing and basic rules and etiquette with all ages and ability levels. Typically, we have stations that are set up to help children with one specific fundamental element at a time. It is a priority of the Bing Maloney coaching staff to keep the student to coach ratio at 5:1 or less.
The third element to our junior golf program is the emphasis on not only an athletic golf motion, but a healthy lifestyle. Some of these athletic movements include: throwing a ball, jumping rope, hula hooping, balance boards, hurdles, speed ladders and much more. We have found that the children not only enjoy “playing” but have also incorporated these healthy activities into their golf game and their everyday life.
Bing Maloney is committed to providing youth golf programs that teach golfing skills, life skills, core values, etiquette and rules of the game and provide junior golf tournament competition as well. To qualify as a The First Tee facility, our staff had to have a coach fully trained to present the core values and life skills within all the junior golf programs at our facility.
Bing Maloney Golf Course offers many youth programs, including golf camps and playing programs throughout the summer.
